Who cares about how much he made etc. The guy was smart, he sold it and made lots of money. Who here wouldn't do the same thing? I swear anyone here really cares about han. It's just another forum where you post your BS. If HAN goes down I AM SURE you will find another forum to talk BS in.

That's what you think. I know John would have bought it and if not, I'm sure someone else would have stepped up.

Personally I think the site was just better when it just wasn't run by a big company. When things used to go bad we would have an explanation fairly quickly and people working on it with the desire to have it up.

IB may or may not be a great company, I reserve judgment for the future. I think we lost our soul and gained a number.

Yes. Purchased from Jelsoft as of June 2007.

Amen.

In my experience, communication has never been one of iB's strengths.
I assumed it was intentional — perhaps because they regretted buying the board.

Now, it is clear to me that they lack the ability.
Seriously, what kind of thought process transpires when you ban paying customers for voicing a legitimate complaint?

When is it that you'll find somewhere else to post your bs??

It's not that he made money that makes him a douche... It's that he couldve at least ask the members if they wanted to buy it off him. I dont know how much he sold Han for but it can't be out of reach for all of us. What would it of cost him to put up the info and let us know his intensions concerning the site? Before selling out he couldve just asked if anyone here was interested instead of sneaking and shit. PKU even after it was sold he never really explained why he did such a dick move.

So IB owns vB, the most widely used and best forum software out there, and also owns forums.. so technically, they could screw forum owners over by shutting down a competing forum? Or just take it over?

How much he got for it is undisclosed as per signed contract so unless something random divulged the details of the sale we won't ever know nor is it all that important.
When it sold I made my objection loud and clear and will always hold to the fact that he pulled a chickenshit move in not announcing his intentions until the final papers were being drawn up. I had asked for a chance to buy it if it ever went up again, when Chris mentioned the place was for sale I made the same inquiry and got shafted on a serious response which is when Daniel got ahold of it.

It's not so bad I didn't get the chance but I am upset the board has become just another acquisition for IB which has always preferred to remain faceless and out of reach. Seems to me you would designate a contact per dozen sites who maintains and updates the sites while also promptly being able to address any issues by contacting the board admins (Nelson and Chanc) who instead are left holding the bag and made to look like the bad guys when they have been trying their best to keep things on an upward swing.

As much anger and resentment towards all parties involved, I think it's unfair to blame iB (or at the very least not entirely).

This last outage was because of aforementioned attacks, whoever did it probably had their reasons but the fact that we fell victim to the attack as well is a bit disappointing.
