Seriously, there is a debate about this?!?
Do any intelligent people actually support this war? We should have pulled out years ago and we will accomplish nothing from staying there except spending more money and making those that profit from war richer.

He's deciding whether he should do what's right for the war or do what's right for the cronies. I was never a supporter of the Iraq war when it began, but I was also never one of those people shouting "lets just GTFO right now!" You can't waltz into a foreign country, kill a bunch of people, destabilize the region and then run away. IMO both wars were rushed into without enough thought about the long term commitment that was likely to result.
Hell, Pakistan is finally mounting up forces and rolling in on the towlie-ban, I think now is the perfect time for a coordinated show of force on the other side of the border.

"fighting terrorists" is such a broad and generalized term, its ridiculous... for 4 years they have been 'fighting' there... are you telling me that the worlds #1 super power and their allies can't defeat a group of "cave dwellers"?
every war is waged for an idea, true, but this is a war AGAINST an idea... its like shooting The Blob with your m4a1... sure you'll poke a few holes, but they will just fill back up again... it seems that for every "terrorist" they kill, two more take his place.
