I don't think anyone in their right mind wants to. Prepare (and train) for the worst and hope for the best.

 

My piece is in my safe in my bedroom closet, loaded. I keep the safe unlocked when I am home and locked when I leave. I hope I never have to use it. I live in a pretty decent hood.

 

I guess this is a big deal in the states when i still lived in south africa neighbor's houses got broken into all the time ours even did twice, thats why i was given a gun at 12 and had to do shooting training and dad went over all the technicalities with me...

p.s. by technicalities i mean the fact that you have to fire of a warning shot not in the burglars direction, then another but in their direction, warn them, then you can defend yourself by firing at them...

That sounds hazardous to pretty much everyone. "before you can defend yourself you have to put two rounds through drywall, and into the guy next doors house"

Well I agree and by the time you get two shots off chances are you have been shot...

I'm pretty sure i would just shoot the bastard, and then unload two rounds afterward.
