Well I just finished my second summer session...
Total cumulative points were 163/200 according to the professors syllabus at the beginning of the semester the range 161-170 was a solid B...I check my final grade this morning and I have a B- WTF!!...So i go back to check the syllabus on the website and HE FUCKING CHANGED HIS GRADING SCALE AFTER HE POSTED THE FINAL GRADES!!! So I email him and he states that he brought this up in class, which when he did he said he was going to keep the original grading scale all semester...So he fuckin snaked my GPA so the rest of the class can get A's.
Should I follow through with a dispute after already contacting him to no avail?

I sent out an email but I haven't gotten anything back....Someone brought it up in class about his original grading scale half way through the semester complaining because with this scale he will not be able to get an A....Teacher said I'm keeping it the way it is..but then at the end comes back on his word and and curves it more so they can get A's

His grading scale was highly erratic from the start, a C was a 65%...Aren't a professors syllabus checked and approved before they are distributed?
From what I understand dude, if nothing was posted (like online, or sent in an email fashion - and nobody else received it) then the syllabus that was given to you at the beginning of the semester is a contract between you and the professor. I would argue that like crazy, no joke. If it was verbal, I call b.s.

On his original scale if you missed 9 points you could no longer receive an A and after you missed 15 an A- was gone as well....So after the first 2 tests it became unlikely that I would receive an A....
If I had EARNED a B- this thread would be irrelevant.

it seems extremely unprofessional at the college level for a professor to change a grading scale on a whim especially if he handed out hard copies of the classes grading scale only to change it at the end of the semester after grades were posted

Heres what I sent back...I couldn't call him out and call it unethical..He was a great teacher just shocked by my grade...
Prof. Keres,
I was present for that class when we were discussing the grading scale and I distinctly remember no mention of a change to your grading policy. I was under the impression that the original syllabus would be the one to follow and frequently double checked oncourse to make sure that nothing had changed. I even checked yesterday afternoon after receiving your email stating that grades had been sent out and still the Oncourse syllabus and the syllabus I have printed in front of me listed a 163/200 as a solid B.
I'm not trying to beat a dead horse out here I am just frustrated that if we agreed on the original and frequently discussed no changes then my grade should be a B not a B-. I consider it very frustrating to change the grading scale in the syllabus at the end of the semester.
I have no hard feelings towards you as a professor. This class was very informative and I learned a ton over this summer session. Thanks for hearing me out and letting me vent my frustrations.
Thank You and have a great summer.
