news of the death of MJ nearly broke the internet. The topic puts asses in seats, that's why it's covered so much. Although there may be news items of greater importance, they get pushed to the side because of viewership and audience numbers.
Exactly. Media is just trying to pay the bills. Priority number 1.

Michael Jackson has donated way more than 4 million to charities so throwing a farewell celebration is the least we can do for the KING OF POP. Besides, theres a grip of other useless shit California is throwing away money at. You guys just love to target Michael because of personal opinions you may have against him.

No I don't. I merely said it's bullshit that tax payers are having to pay for something as large as this. If any other family needs police escorts for their funeral they have to pay for it (I think), whereas tax payers are paying for this.

well you should go edit your post and you should wonder how many people are going to be going to the mayor's office to ask for a police escort, not funeral services. i'm sure if the funeral they are having is going to draw a million people, like michael jackson, they probably would provide it, for general safety.

my great aunt died a couple of years ago in the syracuse area and we had a police car escort us to the cemetery.

Liverpool will probably do the same for Paul McCartney. Its all relative.

But dont you kind of see it just as a high ranking military funeral? I mean, dont we as citizens pay for that out of taxes? The actual ceremony? The remembrance? All that other hoopla? Granted Mike was not military but he did break boundaries that truly got to everyone. Because if you say that military leaders deserve it more than him, Id beg to differ. Because Mike and some military general are about the same to me. Neither have really directly influenced me but they may have indirectly.

Go ahead - hate.

you're right, jazz is a bad word to use. i'm sure you're not paying for any of the performers, whether they be jazz, soul or rock, that are performing during the memorial.
