I was sick of the media coverage 5 minutes after they said it. The shitty part is now LA residents have to pay $4 million in taxes to cover all the police, fire, escorts, staples center, etc...for all the costs. Not the Jackson family...LA Residents.

The point is it shoves it to the bottom of the page with multiple subsequent stories covering this spectacle instead of covering actual news.
Why not simply cover the fact that the acting mayor asked for donations to cover the event services such as garbage, crowd control, etc. publicly because the cities budget is already over stretched and officers are on round the clock shifts as are other emergency crews to handle this.
Seems a fair trade to me :dunno:

news of the death of MJ nearly broke the internet. The topic puts asses in seats, that's why it's covered so much. Although there may be news items of greater importance, they get pushed to the side because of viewership and audience numbers.

Not to mention Jackson and his estate are already millions in debt that he has been ignoring for years. The taxpayers should not have to bear this kind of private expense at all, it is abuse of the tax system in the worst possible way. This is a city that somehow is already millions (probably billions) in debt already regardless of the countless billions that area makes in entertainment, shipping, manufacture etc.
