A bike transmission and a car transmission are different. Clutchless upshifting on a bike is really more for saving time during your gear transitions if you are racing or trying to go fast. Doesn't hurt the bike.

In all fairness though, I made some dumb mistakes too when I first started riding. The only way you can really learn is through practice. No amount of classroom lecture is going to teach you how to be a good rider. It's good to go into the course having a bit of road time under your belt for the practical application part.

Werd. I remember riding my Rebel around the driveway/back yard/dead end street for a week or two before the class.. I remember putting 20 miles/day doing that. Neighbors prob glad when I got my license
