You could buy a $23000 car if you're putting 5 g's down...and have a loan for 5 years that will fall well between the manufactures 10yr/100,000 mile warranty...even a 5/60k warranty

Leasing something never has appealed to me.

alright maybe it needs to be said again. OP doesn't give a shit about your opinion about leasing. period.

as for the lease offer, i doubt they will accept that. only way they might consider it is if you are willing to put down multiple security deposit (max of 9 in CA). that will reduce the cap. cost and return a better lease rate.

When was the last time you came across a lease that allowed "high mileage". Does one even exist?

define high mileage. the last company car i had was 15k/year. there was also option of 18k/year or 20k/year.

all they do is roll in the XX cents per mile into the monthly payments.

Hmmm. This is my rationale behind the offer. Based on the car I want, my cap cost reduction ($1000), and taxes, the pmt was estimated at $420/month, based on the car's retail price. Per the sales manager, every $1000, reduces the pmt by $30. Research shows that people were paying about $2000 under retail on the 3 series which still provides a bit of profit on the car. Assuming the dealership is willing to go less than retail (which in S. Florida is likely) I can get the car for $360/mo or somewhere close.

there is a $1000 lease rebate (cash to customer, at least in CA) so you'd would need them to get the price down at least another 2-3000 in order to come to 360/month including tax. that 420/month is probably 360+tax, etc. or close to it. I just don't see the dealer giving that much discount on an 09.

The breakout (rough estimate) on the $420/mo is as follows:
$380/mo car (10k miles/yr)
$15/mo for 12k miles/yr
$25/mo taxes.

There is $1000 lease cash factored in, but that is for automatic transmission cars only. It is part of BMW's "complimentary automatic transmission" program. While $360/mo is aggressive, I think I will get it or something close. The lots here are flush with cars and not many purchasers. Lots of window shoppers, and I am ready to sign.
