No clue honestly.

 

Dip is already mechanically ground up. Chew is coursely shreaded leaves that have to be "chewed" to release the majority of the flavor.

edit: honestly I don't know anybody that uses the "chew" method. I think the vast majority of smokeless tobacco sold in the states is sold in dip form.

 

I've done it before. I don't get why people think it's nastier than smoking...at least it doesn't stink.

 

And when you go down on a girl, she doesn't need a cigarette afterward. lol

nasty. i dont think it's a marine thing. i always thought it was more of a hick thing h: quite a few people at my HS did it. they were all hicks h:

 

my buddy was an army ranger sniper and he took up chew because that's all he could do while in country to not give away his location. He was a special forces 50 cal sniper and he and his spotter both chewed like the dickens cause it passed the time and took care of their nic-fix.
