Default computar halp v wont boot

so this kid ive built a computer for is on his 3rd mobo.. originally we tried a new psu when the first mobo wouldnt power up, and the second mobo fried, so for this 3rd replacement i put the original psu on and flipped the switch. green light is on on the mobo, but when i pressed power, nothing happened. so i played with it a few more times and got it to start. turned it off to try again, and now it wont start. i took apart the power button assembly incase the external button wasn't making contact with the actual switch, but its still not powering up.

any ideas?

would also like to point out that holding the power button in while it was on would not turn it off, so i don't think the psu or mobo would be damaged..

Check your video card if it's not onboard.

Is it possible that the pin for power is loose and jiggly?

does the fan turn on when you push the power button?

Test a known good video card.

Also, pull all ram except for the first slot. if the same thing, use a different stick in the first slot only.

Some mobo's dislike some ram... it happens

Do you get a post code at all? (the long and short beeps)

Also, as to the power button issue.

If you know where the pins for power are, disconnect them, and use a knife to jump them. It takes the switch out of the equation.

I did this when my nephew learned to push the button on my computer. Just have to open my knife and tap it for a second for boot.
