I don't know

or when they figure it are they only figure parts made not the actual car sitting on a retail lot?

I don't know this one either

granted theres a lot to think about but the bottom line is the argument that the US doesnt make anything just doesnt hold ground. we just dont make what we used to because of globalization. I've also learned the US is one of the largest chemical producers in the world still. many chemicals needed throughout the world are only made in the US simply because noone else has the facilities or the skills to. the whole we make nothing is all political mongering if you ask me. politicians like to trump it up to strike fear into peoples hearts to sway voting just like global warming
i don't agree that US doesn't make anything. never did, now go yell at that guy who said that.

bottom line if you close all importa the USA would be totally fucked. Prices of good would go way up and inflation off the chart... developed countries rely on developing countries too much to ever go back.

But where is the money being spent to produce those goods? What economy is that flowing into?

Raw materials, factories, employment, etc... that's all being spent overseas.

it's a round and round argument

its made overseas but when it needs to be fixed you call the guy down the street who buys his parts from teh guy across town who has them shipped by the company in the california ...... and it goes on and on all over every day
