If the constitution means anything to you, the tombs could have "Fuck Darky," "the white man is the devil," or "lynch moses" engraved across them, and they would have every right to do so. Your personal opinion of the symbolism of the confederate flag, even if it is shared with a fair number of people, does not override the first amendment.

You wouldn't care if someone removed something from a loved one's grave?

Because if people went around snatching all the freedom flags off of the graves of gays and lesbians, the gay and lesbian community would call it a hate crime and lose their shit over it.

People need to be able to remember their peeps the way their peeps wanted to be remembered.

But how does one know that the dead person wants to be remember with that particular flag? What if at the end of ones life, they were over wanting to be associated with that genre? Serious question.

I thought about the same thing, but I think that you would have to be really close to someone to come back to their grave in the first place to plant anything. A flag, a flower, any symbolic gesture at all. With that being said, unless loved ones were given instructions of what not to leave beside their grave, peeps are gonna continue being.

No. I really don't care. It's a grave. They don't own anything anymore. They're dead.
