Official 2009 NBA Playoffs Thread!
From an outsider's perspective, Laker fans blow chunks. Let me explain.
Oregon gets a lot of Californian transplants. Combine that with some people's need to follow front-runners (ie, Lakers), and we have a large chunk of Lakers fans. I had the opportunity to go to the first Lakers/Blazers game this year - if you're a Laker fan, you'll remember it. It was your worst regular season loss and the game where Trevor Ariza took out (inadvertently) Rudy Fernandez. Regardless, tons of Laker fans showed up to support their team, which I don't have a problem with at all. Their pompous attitude, even when down by 25 points, was ridiculous. On the train home, Laker fans were still yelling at Blazer fans (after the Lakers just got their ass beat) about how the game doesn't mean shit, etc. Unfortunately, this is more then norm than an exception. I went to 18 games this regular season, and no other opposing team's fanbase did anything even remotely similar.
edit: and on a sort of related note, of course they're all wearing oversized Kobe jerseys. All of them.

I 100000% agree.
There are a TON of lakers fans in AZ. They are pretty much all douchebags.
Same situation, I went to a Suns/Lakers game here, and we were without Nash, Barbosa, and Stoudemire, and we beat them. There were so many ************s after the game trying to act "gangster" and yelling shit at Suns fans.
You can spot these guys from anywhere too. Mostly mexican. Always a #24 Jersey. Always obnoxious.
Lakers fans all seem to think their team is the greatest team in the world, and are so engulfed in hate for other teams that they can't even recognize talent anywhere else.
Any other player/star you try to talk about, they end up bringing something up about Kobe (omg, but kobe dropped 81 points!).
