That's why they are analysts and not referee's. Regardless of the fact that the foul should have been called, the Mavs player should have done a better job of fouling him. The reason he was so tentative with the foul is because he thought he knocked it away, but Melo picked it up and put it in his face. He SHOULD NOT have had a open shot. Whistle or no whistle.

If you're playing with a lackadaisical attitude in the playoffs, you deserve to lose.

I can live with looking at it like that. Denver tries to be bad asses, even when one hits and runs like a bitch, so he should have just punched melo in the face. Guarantee if the foul would not have worked out in favor of the Mavs it would have been called.
