I think you need PC2700 DDR. You should be able to get a 1gig stick for pretty cheap. If I'm not mistaken, there's one memory slot. 1.5gigs of ram max.

i think ill bring it to a microcenter near by and ask just to be sure
it has 2 memory slots so i'm hoping i can max it out

installing the new leopard will be a biotch h:

How fast is it? Some have memory soldered on the motherboard. It must have 256mb on the board with 256mb installed with one empty slot.

Installing Leopard is very very easy. The only bitchassness will come from you.

There are a half-dozen different versions of that computer. I have access to GSX. Give me your serial number and I'll look it up to get you the memory specs.

I'd use Tiger and iLife '06 if I were you. I would NOT put Leopard on an iBook G4. Not if you want to have a good experience. The experience isn't very robust even on a 1.67 PowerBook with a gig & a half.

can you tell me where to look for the serial number?

i can see the model number in the back, but not the serial

wait...after popping out the batter...i see some numbers

Gottcha.

I don't see a problem running Leopard on that machine. Fill the ram and roll. You're not going to be using it for processor heavy apps, anyway.

ill bring it to microcenter tomorrow and do the upgrade
hopefully the 1gig memory stick will help
