h:i've had these for 8+ years. worn them pretty much everyday during the winter. roofed three houses with them, that's pretty much the only work i've done with them, besides yard work

There was a lot of debate about the true safety of steel toes. The consensus was that although the smashing of toes was a bad thing, the possibility of the steel plate chopping them off was greater.
I used them everyday for 2+ years and it was fine. Bought them for like 40 bucks I think.

My steeltoe Caterpillars have done me well the last 11 years. Yeah, I said it, 11 years. Although I haven't used them on a daily basis, they still fit and have good tread. I can agree w/ John though...when they get cold your feet fuckin' freeze.
