anyone still using AVG I'd highly recommend switching to avira antivir, it found a file dropper that AVG must have missed more than once; hopefully it was the one that was installing all this crap-- disable the sounds though, they are truly ear piercing

Antivira is one of the best free options out there. Havn't used AVG in a few years...

I've been using it for a while and its great, that on top of comodo firewall, and spyware terminator. all 3 were given editors choice from cnet.

ugh this is the first time in years that I'm going to be using a firewall or dedicated spyware protection... they should start making virus accelerators to do this shit

hooked hard drive to second computer
ran avg & malwarebytes
computer booted and seems clean but missing explorer.exe
left work with computer running repair install

will update in the AM
