looks like a reformat is in my future... I manually cleaned everything out but I think that I may have bigger problems here; looks as if this spyware/virus was actually the cause of some evil under-being that feels like installing crap on my PC seeing as I got yet another virus warning from AVG

Yeah that fucker almost got me on saturday it started running some stupid scan page and I freaked out. Forced a shutdown of process then scanned the hell out of it with AVG, Malware and CCleaner

from what I understand it's not dangerous, it's just a PITA exploitation scheme- They pop up a bogus scan and then either make up a false scan report and/or place false-positive files on the HDD and then ask users to pay for the uninstaller

the program has the ability to go fullscreen and makes a false BSoD; it also does other annoying things like minimize windows and/or closing them

what browser are you guys using? google chrome has been pretty safe for me. I don't think I've ever gotten a pop up with it.

Truth. But no one is immune.

Adobe has expressed concerns for acrobat even now... the latest security glitch won't be fixed for another month-- I've set my PDF preferences to only open when I okay them now

Now I am reformatting.
