I have yet to do mine even but I'm sure I'll get ~$6000-$7500 again.

Got 6k back last year. I'm sure I'll be in a higher tax bracket this year since I made 3x as much so we'll see how much I get back

Pretty close to what I'm getting. I wasn't expecting as much since I made a bit less this year, so pleasantly surprised.

Free too, one site for the federal, another for the state. Couple years ago I went to H&R block and payed $70 (year before that it was $50), still regret that.

eh, it doesn't matter. i think i qualify but i may not take it because you have to pay it back over 15 years or sooner if you sell the house.

well it doesn't matter because the more you get back usually means you have more dependent (ie kids) and or you paid a shit load on interest on your mortgage. people in ca tend to get a lot back because they pay more for their homes thus they had to borrow more money and paid more interest :chuckles:

Yea mine comes from home ownership and interest. That will most likely change next year however as I plan to refinance in May.

If you make less than $52k that they know of, I think they opened up irs.gov so you can file free on-line.
