I don't think he should be punished unless he had restrictions on his license. If he had frequent seizures, he should have restrictions.

My sister had a few seizures once in her life and never had them again.

if it's your first seizure then you obviously would not know

i have a friend who over the last few years had some medical issues that resulted in him having seizures. on his doctors orders he had his license revoked temporally until they were able to test him and decide he was no longer seizure prone

Is he on medication? My sister had to take medication for 2-3 yrs after her 2 seizures (in one day). That was when she was ~12 and in order to get her license, she had to have been off the medication AND seizure free for an entire year....perfect timing for her, but it took a while.

Still I don't know how I would feel as a family member of a victim

Although I would give him something if he really had no clue he had it.

But I don't think this is something that comes up all of the sudden.

Edit: for English.

I used to work with an epileptic who never had any problems with seizures, but one day had a blackout while driving and drove off the road into a river and nearly killed himself.

So in your opinions anyone who ever had a epileptic seizure should be banned from driving?

i believe he had to do the same thing, he's no longer on meds as far as i know but he had to go a certain period without any seizures or signs of seizures. the thing that sucked for him was that a week before he would have been back to 100% he had another seizure and had to go back on meds and no driving again
