Home Reciever, Sony, Onkyo?
I have no experience with the latter.
But i have had good results with Sony.
I have gone through the cassette to to the brand new laser disk conversion.
To the Laser disk to CD conversion, to the CD to DVD conversion. And am now waiting out the DVD to Blueray conversion.
Sony has never done me wrong.

the question is, who do you think would make a better home audio product...a company that only does home audio equipment or a company that does home audio, car audio, video, computers, video game consoles, portable audio/video, etc...
i, personally, would go with the specialist.

Sony doesn't compare.
I <3 my 905.
Piece it together. HTIB are usually low-end rcvrs with low-end speakers. It will sound decent, but if you want better quality, piece it.

I own both Sony and Onkyo recievers.
I actually have 4 of them: 2 new and 2 old of each.
No problems with either one of them. Onkyo is cheaper so go with that.
I just bought a Sony receiver for my dad because it was dirt cheap and he's getting a 52" Bravia so he wanted the Sony enhanced pass-through option (some sort of marketing BS by Sony). Whatever, it was a $10 difference
