To further clean up the sound on my car, I picked up this audio processor that works in line with my new head unit. In a nutshell, with the optional mic you mount in multiple points inside your car....then the processor/laptop automatically makes measurements in areas such as time correction, phasing, xover points, and best of all your EQ:

The last pic you can see the microphone attached to my tripod. At first I thought this wasn't going to do shit to my system but needless to say I was floored on how well it performed. Before my sound was flat and had no definition........now it's CRYSTAL CLEAR. I played a few tracks from The Dark Knight and my ears picked up a boatload of notes I never heard before. Basically it tunes in a way where the artists intended for the listener to hear. After the tests are done, they show you a before/after pic of sound correction throughout the spectrum....it was a real eye opener to see how poor in shape my setup was. If anyone has a compatible unit, this is a must buy.

I don't even have a radio in my toy car.
My DD has the oem cd player. I'm too cheap to swap it out. Even though I'd kill for an ipod interface.

no tanks.
there aren't any speakers to go with it, and gauges where the oem headunit was.

IDA-X100.............For the initial shit you see in the pic, you can get it for around $200. As for my total system cost, it's likely around $2k. If you don't want to get too crazy with anything, just replace your OEM HU with something decent........you'll see a BIG difference as is.
