Are they all the same? I think I want to buy one. Which should I get? Keep in mind, this is the back of my receiver and it doesnt do audio through HDMI. I might have to replace this thing. :uhhok:

They are NOT all the same. Definitely read up on them. I'd just get a blu-ray player, there are deals all over on them.

What are the differences? I read something about different upconverter chips? Where do I read? I dont wanna spend the money on a blu-ray player because I dont even have any blu rays. This is just more of a might as well have laying around the house things

 

Some are just shitty dvd players in general, and don't upconvert very well at all. Poor picture, poor operation. Read the reviews people write about them.

Oppo is awesome. But BluRay players can be had for around that much these days.

 

Philips upconverting dvd player is crap, mines junked out after a year of use.

I dont see any that cheap. I still see them in the high $200s.

But I watched Blu Ray on my TV last night and I need to start taking advantage of the nicer TV I have. I might even switch to HD cable :run:
