Cars looks like absolute trash on dvd on the PS3, on my 360's hd-dvd drive it looked excellent. I was very disappointed about the dvd playback on the ps3.

I was under the impression that it did, as long as it was over HDMI

Mine is on HDMI, and dvd's look horrible on the PS3. I tried messing with the video options too. Everything looked excellent on my 360 with the hd-dvd drive...I didn't understand it

My brother's PS3 plays dvd's great. From what I understand they didnt upconvert originally but they do now.

sure that your ps3 is set to play at your tv's native resolution? a lot of conversion never looks good

Yeah, unfortunately

h: MGS4 looks awesome, blu rays incredible, dvd's I'm ripping my eyes out with a spork
