No not at all but I think there needs to be better education so that people don't vote for candidates based on truly ignorant reasoning.

Seriously and no direspect to you meant here...to vote based solely on skin color, religious background or arty line is the worst possible way to choose a candidate. It opens the door for all kinds of people to get into office who may not have the best interest of the country in mind. This is why you need to pay attention to everything these people say during their speeches and debates instead of picking and choosing what to hear.

yes I admit on the surface Obama has a very good platform and ideals, the problem is that most of what he has proposed costs a lot of money and sticking it to the rich just because they are rich is not the way it should be done. I can guarantee you we are going to see a tax increase in all income levels, social projects will be put on the side and nothing of significance will get done. The redistribution of wealth has been tried in other countries...russia for one and it failed miserably and caused a severe downward spiral for the country, in fact it no longer exists partially because of it.

One could assume that anyone with half a brain would vote on the issues.

People who vote based on race, on either side of the ticket, ruin it for people who actually care about the state of the country.

i dont take any direspect and i see what your saying, but like i said i had othe reasons for my vote for him, yea his race was a big part, but dont try and turn this into Race, my distrust for the other candidate was probably a bigger issue then obama being black...
and i dont mind paying a lil more taxes if it funds some services... we obviously need them IMO.

I don't mind paying a little more either, but I do when a candidate states it to incur at one level then days before it slips right back down to the middle class which always takes the brunt of the tax burden. That is outright lying and nobody deserves a vote based on a lie.

I threw the race thing out there because you said it was a large part of the reasoning, so I had to take a shot while it was open. I know you aren't stupid but I do question the reasoning you use when you vote, it seems more and more people are voting based on party line rather than issues and it begins a disturbing trend if it continues.

We are on a downhill slide as it is I just hope we can pull up before it is too late no matter who gets the job done.

What he's accomplished > who he is. Race is a social construct that hopefully will find its way out of our society. But for now, a holiday for Obama is inevitable.
