They didn't get my money. It's still all in my bank acct, and the withdrawals to paypal are frozen.

 

Good thing you caught it in time. If you dont click on the emails how'd you know money was getting withdrawn?

 

I never click on paypal emails, because I never use my acct...it's either a fake paypal email, or random crap I don't need to know. I had 2 in a row pop up, so I go to my inbox...both say "Payment to XXX Successful". I close the email, go to the paypal site and login, see 3 transactions...then I get another email for a 4th transaction. I sent claim in....within 3-4 minutes of first transaction.

 

same thing happened to me 4 months ago. someone hacked my paypal, bought some shit off ebay for 1600. also hacked my email so i didn't receive any of the paypal notifications. clever fuckers. i noticed when my bank balance was short 1600. called bank immediately--they froze the transfer. got money back in bank account within 5 days. submitted fraud form to paypal--luckily the seller didn't ship goods so he refunded the money. in the end, not a dime lost but a slight spent a couple hours dealing with the mess. don't know how they got my pws either. i don't click on those spams. i could have a keystroke logger on my computer. dunno.

 

I always get emails that are supposedly from BofA that say there has been 3 unsuccessul attempts to login to my acct. I dont click on them either but I check my acct to make sure everything is cool. I'm gonna go check my paypal acct that I rarely use
