My 360 gets more play than my PS3 does, but mainly because of the game base and Halo 3. Both are great machines.

PS3:
Already has wireless internet access (Wired only for 360, unless you buy the $100 wireless card)
Blu-ray player (Have to buy an add-on for the 360...still no word of Blu add-on though)

360:
Better game base
Runs cooler, stronger
Better online servers/support

Wii:
Don't own one and don't plan on it. Think it's an annoying pos.

 

before my 360 i had xbox 1. after i grew out of xbox 1 i really didnt want another console just like you. then my roommates start firing up halo 3 and here i am :-0

 

dont need 2 tv for that... just swith imput. You're the salesman's best friend

the 360 is too noisy though.

 

I have 360, PS3, and Wii and we play the 360 most. Computers are a pain in the ass, you constantly have to upgrade or have a really insane machine if you want to play online. I like being able to pop a disc in and not having to upgrade my memory/vid card/something else to play the game the way it was meant. Plus I grew up on consoles, playing a game with a keyboard and a mouse feels weird to me...Sometimes all the keys are too much to remember. K.I.S.S.h:

well the whole computer is always slow/behind the curve.. a console gets old in what.. 3-4 years (when a new one comes out) and on average a new console costs about 500 dollars.... you can just spend thatn 500 dollars upgrading your pc....

installing games - i agree with you this is tedious.. putting in a CD/DVD and playing right away is one of the ways a console shines.
games - there is a similar amount of games for pc as there are for consoles.
controls - i guess its a matter of prefrance.. i hate controllers. too few buttons.
interactivitiy - consoles are great at sharing with friends.. with a PC your friends just watch you play.
multi-task - console has limited uses. play media or play game... pc - virtually unlimited do your taxes while video confrencing and watching porn.

not enough to sway me to drop lots of cash on it

i think the only way i will justify a console is if
a) i get it for free
b) i get a new tv and i can fully enjoy the console... $$$

 

I prefer my PC.
