8 year old blows himself away
I also have shot 12 and 10 shotguns before i was that age.
With proper training, no problems.
Someone must have missed the "hold it very tight against your sholder" lesson.
It' tragic, but it's what happens when you don't pay attention to saftey. Just like the people killed doing stupid crap on the road, not paying attention to training.

i dont have anything against him shooting it so long as an adult is holding it as well ... dont blame the kid for adults stupidity.
If the child was properly trained, it would not have happened.
the kids 8
training has nothing to do with it
theres no way an average 8 year old is gonna be able to competently control any firearm over a 22 or maybe 223
training only goes so far before physical limitations come into factor. plain and simple he didnt belong operating that firearm by himself

way too much gun for a kid. two mistakes
1. kid was obviously too small to control it
2. where the fuck were the grown ups? an adult should be close enough to jump in at the first sign of trouble
this is the stupid shit that gives gun owners a bad rap

but goat, im curious ... do you see an issue with the kid firing the gun so long as there is an adult either holding the kid , the gun or both?
If he is too young to handle it by himself he is too young to handle it period. It's like letting the kid drive a car as long as you have a hand on the wheel. He's too small to handle it himself and you aren't in full control. It's just plain a bad idea.
