i have some ideas. there is a mag clamp with a pic rail i could mount a scope mount and a light on (sort of how the AR is setup) or i could bolt a pic rail on the forend and do the scope mount/light thing there. both are inexpensive options for sure.

i THINK your first fire barrel should be the modified, but i cant remember which choke holds the tighter pattern longer. thats the one you want in your second fire chamber

an 18" barrel 870 is about as bad of a shotty you could use for clays

i use an over under that has just a standard and improved cylinder. my dads got an over under thats custom made for clays with the proper chokes and a selectable first fire barrel, he can decide which barrel fires first. pumps are REALLY hard for clays

as for shot, regular bird shot works fine ... basically anything works fine for the most part
Sounds good, though an O/U is mighty 'spensive. I'll probably pick a few more semi-auto pieces first.

I just bought an M1, so my budget is going to be $0 for a little while. I might be able to get some stuff through an estate sale, but I think that won't be for awhile.

I just stopped by the Scottsdale gun club with a buddy, just kind of trying out some 9mm pistols. There was a S&W that was just sucked, the pull on the trigger was just too much and we found out could not be smithed.(I guess you get what you pay for) The glock was just kind of ehh, nothing too special. I liked the Springfield XD and have fired it as my buddy already has one. I really liked the Sig, the slide was really nice, the trigger pull was great and I like where the clip release is. The HK was really nice too, great trigger action and everything, but the Sig just seems to suit me better. my buddy was drooling over the HK but gave a comparison of an HK being a mercedes and the Sig being like a lexus, both are great but one has better fit and finish. So I'm probably going to be picking up a Sig real soon and buddy is going to get the HK. For Ammo, I like this as an option. I've heard great things about them.
