It didn't really have any kick at all. keeping it to the short burst really helped with the control. the P90 was even easier to control. my buddy got a membership at the scottsdale gunclub and included with it is free rifle rentals, so we can rent ARs, AK's or anything fun thats hanging on their wall.

it honestly depends a lot on your preference. pancake are pretty good, I like a leather belt slide myself. just stick with a good brand name and you'll probably be fine. let us know what you're looking at and if one of us has one we can chime in.

here's a couple of mine

bianchi black widow for my Walther P99. great fit and fast draw. but it rides high.

Don Hume belt slide. cheap and good fit. but non-GI sights get hung up, slow draw

keep in mind if you buy leather it will be tight at first until it breaks in.

the only one I have is a cheap uncle mike's (which i'm looking to replace) for my pf9. for larger guns I find IWB holsters are usually more uncomfortable. But you might like them more so you just have to try as many holsters as the gun shop will let you.
