Computer peeps, is this possible?
So, it looks like there are no decent leads or evidence in my situation. So, question: My PS3 is set up to look for my wifi network. Is it possible to:
Set up an application (windows/mac/unix/linux) to reverse war-drive. Basically use a laptop's WiFi connection to "spoof" being my router and look for devices that are attempting to connect to my home network? I'm looking for an app that I can use my SSID, channel, and password from my router and see if I can get a hit anywhere in my neighborhood and the nearby particularly ghetto areas?
This will only help if they haven't set my PS3 to go wired instead of wireless, but if they have gone wired, then my PS3 is set to auto-login and I would have a precise IP anyways... Or, well, Sony and hopefully the police would have it.
It's a shot in the dark, but it's better than nothing

h:Also, we have a crappy netgear, so it doesn't show any real-time signal strength meters, which could be useful for narrowing down the location. BUT, I definitely do that if there's no soft solution. Good idea man!
it's been a long time but i know you can setup a mac as an access point
try something like this http://www.macosxhints.com/article.p...51119155606277
hope that is what you're looking for, and hope it helps you find your stuff and regulate on those who took your shit

If anyone has a PS3:
Can you look up the first 6 digits of your mac address and PM it? I want to see what the vendor code portion of it looks like for those devices (The last 6 are the true identifiers anyways, and I don't want those)
