Default Computer peeps, is this possible?

So, it looks like there are no decent leads or evidence in my situation. So, question: My PS3 is set up to look for my wifi network. Is it possible to:

Set up an application (windows/mac/unix/linux) to reverse war-drive. Basically use a laptop's WiFi connection to "spoof" being my router and look for devices that are attempting to connect to my home network? I'm looking for an app that I can use my SSID, channel, and password from my router and see if I can get a hit anywhere in my neighborhood and the nearby particularly ghetto areas?

This will only help if they haven't set my PS3 to go wired instead of wireless, but if they have gone wired, then my PS3 is set to auto-login and I would have a precise IP anyways... Or, well, Sony and hopefully the police would have it.

It's a shot in the dark, but it's better than nothing h:
