i would hit up the plasma for the cheapness. i got a 42 inch sammy plasma and it has been flawless so far, running 10 hours a day for 7 months now.

For the price plasma is your better bet. You can get a kick ass 50" Panasonic. For example: http://www.hotcoolelectronics.com/in...oduct_id=33054 Great for the money and will have much more natural looking colors.

Edit: btw, the 800U is one of the best plasmas on the market and one of the highest rated 50" TV's.

Opposed to a nice 46" Sharp LCD that is more money and doesn't have a better picture (unless you watch a lot of cartoons...then the artificially bright colors will look nice.) http://salestores.com/sharpl22.html
