This place is seasonal. By Spring Break guys will come here to post dumb shit and have laughs. Mods will let some shit slide, depending on who posted it. A virtual Frat-house of hierarchy. After a couple of weeks of different Spring break schedules, classes start up again, and there will be a conservative stand by the mods on thread topics. Summertime happens, and it gets lively again. Up and down seasonal shifts.

I don't know what's up your ass tonight but:
1) Yes moderators take shots at members, I actually am against it.
2) Cosmo M3 is blatantly saying, if you're new to HAN, (pre '03) then you have no say in this. Newsflash, we don't care how long you been on HAN.
3) There have been a few comments towards me, but I'm speaking on behalf of what the moderators are doing.

From the what i have seen in the 4 years of being an active member i concluded that the basement cycles. the mods used to give out warning points like it was candy at haloween. Now they dont warn us. They used to close threads all the time. then they stopped, and now they are closing some again. I'm guessing to control future of the board in the way they feel it will improve the board.

Someone mentionned the Halo and Trasformers thread... i have been part of the Halo one since it opened and most of the post are about joining up and posting our acheivements and past games. really its pretty much on topic.

I do beleive the Mods could do a better job though. i think that at least posting the reason why a thread was closed would be a step. also a et of rules about posting in the basement... not the TOS but more of a set of rules native to the basement.

Also that on topic section suck... almost no one oes in it and the ultimate proof is the Hockey fantasy team thread. If someone wants to post a semi serious thread in the basement why not :dunno: the member has to be prepared to get some stupid replies though. But i also agree that we dont need 15 thread about guns and politics and i'm presuming that why they decided to crack down on serious threads.

Also fuck who ever said the opinion of +03 noobs dont count. for the past 4 years i've posted here. Most of my post arent whoring ones either. the thing that this person doesn't understand is that the board he joined in 02 just isint the same anymore... evolution is not for everyone and resitence to change is a certainty. I'm happy this is not like that other forum which is endless whoring threads.

From what I'm reading;

Members are upset of the either: over-moderation and lack of consistency.

I hear that loud and clear and it has been the topic of discussion. We've spoken about it and I think there may be a clear(er) conclusion and hope that it will benefit all of us.

I'm ashamed to admit I agree with most of Tark's statements.

 

Nothing is up my ass, I'm just trying to help you see something that I don't think is right. You, the administrator, is in a position of power on this site. You, the administrator, should be the voice of reason and help make decisions for the bettering of the site, for both its admin/mods and members alike. You, the administrator, being in this position of power, should not blatantly make comments to call out other members after the fact. It is immature and makes you look bad as the administrator.

I'm not seeing the big deal with saying cosmo is not OG. he wasn't belittled or made fun of, I would have probably made the same post if i was busy replying and possibly missed that bit where he was saying others opinion didn't matter.

you guys that have an issue with it IMO are trying to turn nothing into something. it's a simple statement of fact made in the context that he was making it seem like others opinions didn't matter because the others were not "OG"
