Converting vinyl to CD
A friend of my wife's wants me to convert several of her vinyl albums to CD and she's going to take us out to dinner for it. If the albums are available on CD she could just buy the CD's cheaper I would think...

get a record player hook it into an amplifier, and hook the cable (2) into single wire and plug it into your audio in. there is also a program you can download to get the scratches and hisses out too.
or they sell a record player that does it all at like brookstone.
*edit
the 1st one is what my dad did.

Those phono players that have the built in usb output all cost less than just the cartridges in my turntables. Actually I could buy three or four of them for the cost of one of my cartridges...

They may be the easiest way for a lot of people, but those turntables really suck...I listened to an album on several and they had too much speed variation, and there was a lot of rumble also.
