are you fixing it?

the 323's and the 325's have the same 2.5L I-6, right? Do they make the same HP/TQ?

same 2.5L displacement (if you round up) and yes they are both I-6 but they are not the same engine. bmw had 3 different 2.5L I6 engines for the E46 during it's life time.

the 2.5L in tonys 323i (1999) was only used for 1 year.

yeah they dropped the name 323 for 2000+ and went to 325 where there was an engine change, then there was another engine change/update to ULEV status or something like that in 02 or there abouts.

gotcha. I see a e46 in my future. Thinking about the 328i w/ sport pack (sedan, 5spd).

Can't seem to find many e39 528i's w/ sport pack and 5 spd. Oh well, I got time.

e39s are already hard to find with manual transmission. most of the manuals were on the 540i. I think I've only come across 1 maybe 2 manual 528/530 in my 3 years or so of 530i ownership. (mine was automatic)
