Default can you go without manual?

i've been thinking about getting a new daily driver. i love manual but there's so many cars out there now with sequential clutchless shifting that i'm thinking about switching... the car will be for daily commute and weekend twisties with no trackdays.
i was checking out audi's website the other day cuz i like the 09 A4s and they do not come with manual. the only 4 series that comes with an option for manual is RS4
I still got my weekend corolla for manual driving if i miss it.. h:

i made the switch from manual to auto a few years ago. i miss it sometimes but overall i prefer not having to shift more than having to shift

Since you're clearly looking at Volkswagen products, I'll tailor my answer to suit. I think the DSG transmission is brilliant and I'd definitely choose it over their automatic. But I'd hedge my bet by going with the 3.2 VR6 over the 2.0T.

OTOH since you already have four modes of transportation, reliability probably isn't a paramount concern...

I'll probably drive stick for the rest of my life. it keeps me attentive while driving... I just zone out whenever i'm driving an automatic.
