pearl harbor may have been 50 years ago but it still is the primary reason the US got drawn into a war that killed millions of american citizens ....

we havent even reached 100k americans dead yet on this ... the percentage of population directly affected by pearl harbor vs 9.11 is so vast its not even funny

im not saying we should forget but we dont need to all stop what we are doing and mourn it every year. i dont need to wake up and have news channels and websites flooded with 9.11 stories ... leave the mourning and constant remembrance to those who were actually affected.

90% of americans wouldnt even think twice about what day it is if we werent barraged my media about it

i'm all for never forgetting, we never should forget the past ... but that doesnt mean i need to have to constantly hear about it ... especially after 7 years ... what more can you say?

Jesse, Pearl Harbor was a military base... this was an attack on innocent civilian lives.

Not saying those that died at PH weren't innocent, but there is a difference.

I don't think it's called mourning, it's more as a reminder for us, people of this generation, and the future, not to forget what happened and forsaken the things granted to use.

We HAVE choices to make. Others don't. Be grateful that you're still here today, on HAN, chatting and complaining.

almost every american was affect from pearl harbor due to the war that followed. after 9/11 our military is in 2 places fighting, affecting the american public as it did before. i cant say how many are actually affected but both events have/are affecting all american lives in way or another

irrelevant

i'm merely pointing out the fact that 9.11 directly effect less people than pearl harbor and after 7 years the entire nation doesnt need to be barraged by media reports all day. we arent going to forget but we dont need to hear the same stories over and over every year.

WWII has ZERO comparability to the current situations :lmao:

as for effect not even close ...

hasn't effected me at all ... my day to day life was the same on 9.12 as it was on 9.11 ... its the same today as it was on 9.10

same came be said for 99% of the people i know.

maybe i pay more for gas but if it wasnt the wars something else would have raised the price

not saying we need to drop it, just saying we are going a lil over the top on the "remembrance" ...

How do you figure the ratio of people affected in PH is less than 9/11?

Regardless I do agree with you, however, I also agree with everyone else, it is still a fresh subject.... You don't like it, go shoot your guns and enjoy it because that's one of the few reason 9/11 happen h:
