Fringe refers to Fringe Science (pseudo-science I guess). In the show, FBI / Homeland Security are battling terrorists that are using fringe science as warfare, and the agents are using as counter measures. Freaky stuff.

I came home at 7:30 and caught 2 minutes of it and decided not to watch it, missed too much to try to get caught up. :doh: I wanted to watch it too.
