my silly question is why not get the final price & have the bank you are financing it w/ cut you a cashier's check???....that's what i did w/ my 1st new-car purchase

:dunno:

call me paranoid, but i wouldn't want most of these shady dealerships having my checking account # either
:crazyr:

I'm very inexperienced with those sorts of things, I didn't realize having your credit run (essentially meaning "checked", right ) was a bad thing... like it impacts your credit somehow?

it's a hard hit so it can and will lower your score.

call them paranoid. even with a cashiers check they will do the same. a few dealers have been burned in CA with fake cashiers checks.

TY, I still don't entirely understand why, but I understand it more than I did. Knowledge is power!!!h:

As for keeping the car, I probably wouldn't go to the trouble of taking it back either (if you want you can just avoid them in the future, which you obviously will), but I wouldn't take it in for the free oil change :hsugh:

:hsugh:

i kept the car even though i wanted to give it back and go elsewhere. im not the poopoo head, they were the ones trying to put another hard credit pull on me even when they didnt have to....then they made me feel like i did something wrong. they give me a story on how they will still need my SSN anyways even if they dont run a credit app :bs:

if they ran a proper business then i never would have been so upset with them.
