car purchases you regretted later on
95 Eagle Talon ESi.
Yeap, got the first model run of the 2nd gen, non-turbo Eclipse. Everything broke on it. I had the transmission replaced at 68K, engine rebuilt at 55K, and the car completely fell apart at 80k. It was under warranty until 75K, so most of the repairs cost nothing ... but the damn machine was at the dealer for 2 months out of every year I had it.
when I say "everything broke", I really mean it ...
- door handles snapped off
- locks didn't work
- trunk piston broke
- seatbelts didn't retract
- power locks didn't work
- auto mirrors didn't work

lemon law only covers you if the same thing breaks 3 times, iirc. also it has to be purchased new.
I don't regret any. As people have said, there are things about each vehicle that I could grip about but probably teh only that would have stopped me from buying them was the first. My 93 S-10 had a puny 2.8L v6 and had I known any better, I'd've held out for a 4.3L. Of course, that was 10 years ago so who cares?

My mkiii supra was the biggest steaming pile of crap I hope I ever own. 7mgte ftl... that thing cost me a lot of money. Fun when it was running, but definitely not worth it.
I also made a bad choice with my volvo 760t... It was a good car (I lived in it while I worked for FEMA
), but I should have either held out for a manual or waited till I had the funds for a trans swap before buying it. I just got sick of the auto and got rid of the car.

Of the thirty or so cars I've owned in my lifetime I can't really say that I regretted buying any of them.

well there have been things with most of my cars that i have regretted but again I would prolly buy each of them over again.
My 91 s10 blazer i had for 2 years no issues other then eventual rusting out but i sold it before it got horrible.
My civic no regrets other then dumping all kinds of money into it over the years but i have enjoyed it.
My 04 Grand cherokee that i bought in october 07 is the only one that would be a possible regret 2nd day of me having it my check engine light came on, I have brought it back to the dealer 4 or 5 times for a CEL for EVAP system leaks. each time they replaced something and said its fixed and weeks later boom back on again eventually it was fixed and :knocksonwood: i havent seen a check engine light in over 3 months I did have an internal battery shortage that wrecked havoc on the car but that was fixed with a new battery. oh yea and it costs alot to fuel but i knew that when i got into it. but other then those issues i like the jeep

My 2002 SVT Focus. I was stupid to buy it brand new, no money down and finance it for six years. It was fun to drive but I had a $320 per month car payment -- in college. When I finally sold it, I was under on the loan because POS Fords depreciate like mad but took the financial hit to get out. And I haven't had another car since...
