Yeap, got the first model run of the 2nd gen, non-turbo Eclipse. Everything broke on it. I had the transmission replaced at 68K, engine rebuilt at 55K, and the car completely fell apart at 80k. It was under warranty until 75K, so most of the repairs cost nothing ... but the damn machine was at the dealer for 2 months out of every year I had it.


when I say "everything broke", I really mean it ...
- door handles snapped off
- locks didn't work
- trunk piston broke
- seatbelts didn't retract
- power locks didn't work
- auto mirrors didn't work
