Lots of designer watches are also good "investments". Many high end watches appreciate in value. There's also a sense of personal pride being able to pass on a designer watch as an heirloom.

I know Tyler's gonna end up with daddy's timex as an heirloom.

I've got a nice bulova marine star chrono (quartz but still nice) that needs to be sent back for reconditioning. The band broke a link and the pins aren't like anything else out there. :sad:
