part of my daily grind is to encode various NBC/Uni EPK's to files, so other territories can download/view them across the world.
I work for Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE). My boss does the EPK's, I just do the sourcing but I do work in their creative marketing dept so I see what goes into all the print choices and trailering.

EPK = Electronic Press Kit
AV = Audio/Visual
MPAA = Motion Picture Association of America (Almost everything has to be approved by them in some way/shape/form unless it's a tv spot then that's at network discretion).

External producers cut and pull clips based on creative direction. I don't believe we do web-based transfer/viewing. We send out Digibeta's to all the vendors since these are features (Home Entertainment not Television). Clips for web-based media technically are pulled in-house, where I'm given timecodes and speak to specific vendors to have those clips created on BetaSP's or MiniDV's which get encoded out of house to their respective websites. Amazon is the only site we send DBC's directly to, AOL and Fearnet.com have their own liason I work with, who orders through me.
