You are making excuses that is exactly how the real world functions. Like I said, instead of taking action people will make excuses and pass the buck.

On the other side we can take example from one of our own...Spanky. This is not meant degradingly at all to or about him either, but Spanks was a big boy and most likely on his way to severe health issues if he continued the way he was. In about a year he changed his eating habits, started exercising and shed a small human.

So he quit making excuses which may very well have been easier than the action he took, but once he got used to the various changes I will bet you he actually saved a lot of money both in health benefits as well as in food cost etc.

I agree, in the long run people will save money by becoming healthier. But the majority of America doesn't have the time or money to spend on a gym, personal trainer, and healthy food to diet on. That is why the country has an obesity problem. People in general are lazy, poor, and don't know how to change.

why are we arguing in circles?
Seriously was it not mentioned about 2-3 pages ago that education is a key element to this? If any change is going to come about then people will obviously have to be educated in the matter and the money spent educating them now will pay off in the end with a healthier nation and a stronger workforce.

Anyways I got wwork to do.

Do you really think educating these people will help? Look at the unemployment and welfare situations in this country.

If you put forth the effort then once it is done they no longer have room to bitch because they were taught how to. If they choose to be lazy and not cook healthier meals for the most part then any health concerns that come about from poor eating habits (obesity specifically) is on them and the healthcare bill is their problem as well.

what you are failing to see is that we need to quit holding their hands and giving them excuses for being lazy fat bastards. Give them the needed info on how not to then let them make their own decision from there about how they want to be and pay the price accordingly.

Exactly, but I think that everyone KNOWS about trans-fats at least enough to know that foods that contain them are "junk" food. You won't find a person on the planet that thinks chips, as a junk food, are healthy.
