Herpes v. Simplex 1
I got a cold sore on friday ... its already past the "initial" stage.. now its scabbing up...
some say keep it moist so its more comfortable and doesnt leave a scar.
some say keep it dry so it heals faster and falls off.
does anybody know if i should keep the scab dry or keep it moist? im getting conflicting opinions from the internets....

Take Lysine (4 pills, 4 times a day) and use Campho-phonique to dry it out and then the scab relief kind to keep it from scarring.
Definitely want to keep it moist so it can heal and you don't bleed all over the place and look like a tard when you eat.

I have had these things since I was 3, and campho and lysine kick them the fastest of anything I have tried.
Are those prescription? I'm using Lipactin according to the pharmacist is the best over counter treatment.. but im not sure if i should use it during the scabbing (which i am doing anyway) ...
Swaggs has experience with it i don't.
but Abreva and campho-phenique are otc. Campho-phenique helps with the symptoms and lysine can (there are some conflicting studies) help shorten the duration of the herpes.
