i asked my fish dude about a lemon cichlid or an electric yellow cichlid. he reassured me that it was a bad idea to add them to my tank... :hs:

Speaking of which.

1 of 2 of my Green Terrors died, I think they got outmaneuvered by the dempseys. I moved the other one to my newly renovated 3gal which just as an algae eater and a cory. It ate the algae eater :squint:

Oh well.

My oscar finally killed the Convict Cichlid a few weeks ago. Now he has the 55 gal to himself (besides the 2 plecos). Unfortunately, these big aggressive fish have a way of killing each other.

not really, when having mostly small schooling fish, a good rule of thumb is 1 fish per gallon of water, so i'm at about 2/3 that ratio

filtration is a rena xp3 which is made for upto 175 gallon aquariums.....overkill i know, but when i bought it, they were out of the xp2 that i actually needed that was for upto 75 gallon tanks (& i got a killer deal on it)

Rule of thumb is 1" of fish per gallon. Never heard 1 fish per gallon

My 75 is getting interesting. It's got 5 parrots, an arowana, 3 tinfoil barbs, and a flowerhorn...

One of the parrots is attempting to mate with the flowerhorn.

not 1" but one fish (small ones that is) per gallon is the good rule of thumb per my local specialty store...that is if the fish is less than 1/2"
