Most unlocked/unbranded phones that are sold (through online shops or eBay) are triband but they're mostly the Euro version of a phone and have 900/1800/1900 bands.

Frequencies used in the US are 1900mhz (T-mobile) or 850 and 1900mhz(AT&T/Cingular).

If you're using AT&T, you want a phone that has both 850 and 1900mhz bands because I think that both frequencies are being used in your area.

If you get a phone that is triband 900/1800/1900 (meaning you're only using 1900) you might only get reception half of the time. Plus you won't get good reception when you're inside building as the 850 band has better penetration than the 1900 band.

Whoa, it seems like buying a cell on eBay is a lot more difficult than I thought. And I can't pick one! :run:

Did you have a particular model in mind, or style of phone?

I'm just sick of my razr. I want something under $200 that won't fall apart in a month.
I don't care whether it has mp3 or not b/c I already have an ipod and use that. I would like qwerty, but it isn't necessary.....

i have a motorola slvr that is quite small but durable....i carry it all day in an inside/outside job. the keypad layout is pretty much a razr but it's not a flip.

if you want a qwerty, i also have a blackjack that is relativly small & thin & is very nice...just haven't had time to play around w/ it to figure out how everything works & get it set like i'd want.....lazy mofo krew president checking in

I decided not to go w/ qwerty...I was thinking about it and I text pretty damn fast without it and I don't text that much anyway.
I think I'm gonna go with a Sony Ericsson S500i:

**Just kidding, I just read the review on a site and it said that those phones fall apart. Dammit, back to square 1.

I don't really want to get a phone similar to the razr b/c I'm only buying a new phone b/c I'm tired of my razr....I want something new and different.

What do you guys think about this? I think it'll work with AT&T even though its T-Mobile....plus it has WiFi. It isn't the cutest phone and it seems kinda big, but idk....its cheap! :lmao:
