i know most ppl run dual displays. I was wondering if there's any benefits of running just 1 big screen vs 2 smaller ones? it looks like the cost would be about the same for the displays i'm looking at.

i'll be running the display off my laptop. so i'll have the total of 3 if i run 2 24"
or i can just get a 27" now. and run dual 27" later on h:

 

i would use a splitter. most of them aren't very good and your picture quality will suffer as a result.

27" is what i would run. i would however wait for reviews from users to come in. dell is notorious for light leakage issues and various other panel issues when it comes to their large lcds. that's one of the reason why i waited until the 3rd gen to get my 24"

 

hm i'm just gonna go ahead and order it. since nothing on the market has the contrast ratio i want. looks like dell is on top with 3000:1
where's my OLED contrast ratio of 10,000:1 ?

my friend was like, get a 42" LCD tv..
i looked into the bravias.. they have contrast ratio of 340:1
i can draw higher contrast with my pencil and paper olong:

 

340:1? I just looked up the only 42in on the SonyStyle site and it's 2500:1 static, 25,000:1 Dynamic.

dont use a splitter.... i believe the one you posted just doubles the output; not dual extended screen.


dont rely on contrast ratios too much, since 2 different screens with the same ratio can look different.
