I think you've been living under a rock. Control scheme on the MGS series has always been a problem...recognized by critics and the creators of the game themselves...who have tried to improve them this time around.

This time around? I'm pretty sure that with every MGS game the controls were altered in some way or another. The controls were never a big issue at all... the only thing that comes to mind when thinking of a reoccurring complaint about the MGS series would be the camera. However, since MGS3 Subsistence was released, that issue was virtually non-existent. I still have no idea what there is to bitch about when it comes to the controls. Obviously, if you aren't quite familiarized with the control layout, you'd probably say the game has "bad controls."
